Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City ‘Brutal’ trailer.
Feature: Xbox 360 Spring 2012 Showcase Preview

Microsoft has been quiet. I’d say too quiet, about what’s coming to their platform in 2012. Granted there’s always surprises come E3 time, as Microsoft loves to announce tons of new stuff at the expo. But what’s coming this Summer? Ah, well that’s what the Xbox 360 Spring Showcase is for.
Some new images of Resident Evil 6 courtesy of the latest Famitsu. Chris sure looks a bit different now. Less pumped and a little bit older but still ready to kick some zombie ass. The next-gen leap has been kind to Leon as well, especially that sexy jacket. Resident Evil 6 ships this November on Xbox 360 and PS3.
Capcom has lifted the lid on some new Resident Evil 6 screens and some details. RE6’s zombies aren’t the typical slow shambling bunch of past Resident Evil titles, no these can use weapons and leap at you from far distances. Along with more blood thirsty undead is the addition of the J’avo.
Named by the BSAA after the Serbian word for ‘demon’, the first J’avo made an appearance in the conflict zone of Eastern Europe about six months before the action of Resident Evil 6. The J’avo exhibit certain human elements – such as the ability to understand speech, work together as a group and use weapons – but they are also incredibly aggressive and a number of their actions have regressed to pure instinct. When a J’avo takes damage it has the ability to regenerate itself. However if it is receives major damage then it will mutate that affected body part into a number of varied forms, meaning players will have to rethink their strategy and adapt to this unpredictability. In other words, Oh crap!
Thankfully to help keep you alive is an evolved control system that lets you shoot and move at the same time! You can now roll in any direction, take cover and have various melee attacks. Expect more Resident Evil 6 details in the next few months, because a title this big is going to be packed with content.

Oh, and in case there’s any confusion at the store, yes, they done goofed and spelled “Revelations” wrong on the spine. It’s OK, it happens.
