Feature: Xbox 360 Spring 2012 Showcase Preview

Microsoft has been quiet. I’d say too quiet, about what’s coming to their platform in 2012. Granted there’s always surprises come E3 time, as Microsoft loves to announce tons of new stuff at the expo. But what’s coming this Summer? Ah, well that’s what the Xbox 360 Spring Showcase is for.

Capcom has released a launch trailer for the over the top Dragon Ball Z like Asura’s Wrath. The game looks insane as hell and I love it for it. Asura’s Wrath releases next month on PS3 and Xbox 360.

Some new images of Resident Evil 6 courtesy of the latest Famitsu. Chris sure looks a bit different now. Less pumped and a little bit older but still ready to kick some zombie ass. The next-gen leap has been kind to Leon as well, especially that sexy jacket. Resident Evil 6 ships this November on Xbox 360 and PS3.

NEW Dragon’s Dogma screens and details.

Capcom has updated Capcom-Unity with their first in a series of blogs detailing the many systems of the upcoming action RPG Dragon’s Dogma. In the first of what I hope are many blogs, they explain the how exactly the Pawn AI system works. It all sounds very Tamagotchi like, where your Pawn will actually grow with you. And if you need to, you have a little sit-down with him or her to let them know where they’d like to improve. It all sounds very meta. Check out the full blog over at Capcom-Unity and for more Dragon’s Dogma info on their official Facebook.

Berserk invades Dragon’s Dogma

Those interested in Capcom’s upcoming open world action RPG, who also happen to be fans of the legendary anime and manga Berserk are about to get giddy. Capcom has confirmed that both US and EU will be receiving on disk these sweet looking Berserk armor sets. Might I add, Griffith has never looked better. Dragon’s Dogma releases this coming May on PS3 and Xbox 360.

Capcom has lifted the lid on some new Resident Evil 6 screens and some details. RE6’s zombies aren’t the typical slow shambling bunch of past Resident Evil titles, no these can use weapons and leap at you from far distances. Along with more blood thirsty undead is the addition of the J’avo.

Named by the BSAA after the Serbian word for ‘demon’, the first J’avo made an appearance in the conflict zone of Eastern Europe about six months before the action of Resident Evil 6. The J’avo exhibit certain human elements – such as the ability to understand speech, work together as a group and use weapons – but they are also incredibly aggressive and a number of their actions have regressed to pure instinct. When a J’avo takes damage it has the ability to regenerate itself. However if it is receives major damage then it will mutate that affected body part into a number of varied forms, meaning players will have to rethink their strategy and adapt to this unpredictability. In other words, Oh crap!

Thankfully to help keep you alive is an evolved control system that lets you shoot and move at the same time! You can now roll in any direction, take cover and have various melee attacks. Expect more Resident Evil 6 details in the next few months, because a title this big is going to be packed with content.

Bison and the badass Akuma join the fray of Street Fighter X Tekken. The crossover beatdown hits consoles March 6th on PS3, Xbox 360.

To all of you that missed the Livestream here it is. See some of the great and shiny features of Dragon’s Dogma.
