DmC concept art by Ninja Theory.

It seems Ninja Theory X Capcom’s DmC won’t be making its 2012 debut, which is probably for the best as DmC needs all the time to get its launch right. Details after the break. While it is a bit sad, the good news is that the Unreal Engine 3 powered brawler will be hitting PC and I can’t wait to see it humming in 1080p

Heavenly Sword is one of those games that received polarizing reviews early in the PS3s life. It was heralded as one of the defining next-gen experiences that was only capable of being on the PlayStation 3, and with hype like that it was doomed to face some stiff critique. While the game had its share of problems, it still was a title that many seemed to enjoy; enough for Sony to pursue a sequel without developer Ninja Theory. Sadly, it’s a game we’ll never see.
This DmC combat walkthrough with chief Ninja Theory ninja Tameem proves that hey, they’re actually trying (along with help from Capcom) to make the combat system decent. So put down the pitch forks and try and give the game a chance. It may surprise you, or not… whatever.
DmC interview
NEW DmC screens. Not the best quality at the moment but hope to get my hands on some hi-res versions from Capcom soon. Expect some new DmC footage and details next Tuesday from Capcom’s Captivate event.
The Devil May Cry (DmC) crew at play after a long day of mocap work on the upcoming Ninja Theory X Capcom DmC.

Many gamers have been more than a little worried about the new DmC being developed by Ninja Theory in conjunction with Capcom. But DMC3 director Hideaki Itsuno isn’t worried, if anything he thinks folks are going to be blown away by the end product.

I know more than a few folks are hesitant about the new Ninja Theory x Capcom produced Devil May Cry, and for good reason. Ninja Theory isn’t exactly known for delivering top-notch smooth action, but that’s where Capcom is coming in and helping get the combat right. But what Ninja Theory does do well is characters and story, and with DmC they’re going all out.
NEW DmC Inside Xbox. Yeah, I know, there’s still plenty of hate for this title but I’m giving it the benefit of the doubt. I loved Enslaved, even with it’s quirks and it seems that Capcom is incredibly hands-on with this project. Expect DmC later this year on PS3, Xbox 360 and maybe PC.

Capcom has released some new gameplay of DmC. It’s looking a lot smoother and weapon sounds are actually chunky now. I have to give props to Ninja Theory, they’re really putting a lot of effort into this. The combat still needs some work but it’s head and shoulders from what was first shown. As usual for NT games though, it’s the art which is the real stand out.
NEW DmC trailer with Dante trying to escape a living shifting city. The graphics still look a but rough but this isn’t due out till some late 2012, so there’s plenty of time to get everything in order. Sadly, one of them isn’t old Dante.
