NEW screens of Crimson Dragon coming this Summer to XBLA.

HD Announcement Trailer for Kung Fu Superstar a revolutionary take on the fighting/action genre designed for the new era of gaming.

Kung Fu Superstar is the world’s first action game where players fight using real Kung Fu techniques that the game teaches them. Players will relive the epic journey of Danny Cheng, a young aspiring martial artist, as he rises through the ranks of international fame and stardom. Aided by his trusted Sifu, Danny will discover the secrets of Kung Fu and become the most popular martial arts stuntman Hollywood has ever known.

In a ground-breaking rethink of fighting games, players will use their full body and/or a controller to learn authentic martial arts techniques and level up Danny’s fighting abilities, as they improve their own knowledge of Kung Fu. Players then put their skills to the test on the movie set, where Danny takes part in dramatic fight choreographies and performs in explosive action sequences. With multiple movie sets and plots to explore, colourful characters to be met along the way, Danny’s own overarching storyline, as well as a platform for learning real martial arts in a fun and engaging way, Kung Fu Superstar will open up a world of possibilities to players of every background.

When Kinect was first announced this was the type of gaming I expected. It’s about damn time someone actually decided to go that route. Now where is my Black and White or Populous?

Microsoft have released a few  new screens of the English version of the upcoming Kinect exclusive title Crimson Dragon. Really, this is the title that’s going to make Kinect worth keeping around. Well, that and talking to my TV makes me feel like I’m in Star Trek.

Crimson Dragon for the uninformed is an on-rails shooter made by the team behind the much loved Panzer Dragoon series. Which as you can tell from these screens is pretty damn apparent. You can expect Crimson Dragon later year on Xbox Live Arcade.

Shout at Skyrim today

Later today Bethesda will be pushing out their new Kinect based update for Skyrim on Xbox 360, giving Kinect owners another reason to shout at their Xbox’s. Bethesda has put up a complete list of voice commands for Skyrim with Kinect that you can check out here. If you’re wondering if the Dragon shouts actually work like ‘Fus Ro Dah’; yeah they put it in there.

Rumor: Mirror’s Edge 2 coming, will support Kinect

Mirror’s Edge is one of games that got great reviews and has reached an almost cult like status with fans but sold poorly. Still, hope has sprung eternal with fans and it may have been worth it, as rumor has it that EA is going to make your dreams come true with a sequel; and then make you laugh your ass off with Kinect support. Oh, but one more thing, it won’t be on current gen systems. *GASP*

Bethesda is adding Kinect support to Skyrim. Yes, you read that right. You too can now use actual dragon shouts to your TV. Look, perhaps I”m just a dork (I am) but this actually looks pretty cool and a nice bonus for Kinect owners on 360. About time they started putting the Kinect to good use.

Star Wars for Kinect has a launch date - April 3rd - but it’s looking very much not like the Star Wars game we’ve been hoping for. I mean for Jabba’s sake, it even has a dance off portion.  Which more than a little reminds me of this.

BioWare talks up Kinect integration in Mass Effect 3

The media circus for Mass Effect 3 has begun and it seems their really making a big deal about being able to use Kinect for combat and choice in Mass Effect 3. I’m waiting for the announcement to be able to use to Kinect in other more usual ways, like telling being able to punch out reporters. Shepard ain’t got time for your questions lady, BAM! Check out a new interview with Product Manager Nick Clifford after the break.

All future Xbox apps will have Kinect fuctionality

If you have a Kinect, MS is going to make sure you get a hell of a lot use from it. Going forward any new apps that make their way to the new app friendly dashboard will have Kinect support. Sure, they still haven’t added that support to say DVD viewing or even done something as simple as letting me fast-forward an MP3 but they sure have Kinect shoehorned onto Netflix. Which by the way is now terrible on LIVE. Really, I want to know who made the design decisions on that horrible new UI

Halo: Anniversary Introduces New Kinect Integration

Uncover Rich Details about the “Halo” Universe through the Power of Kinect

Alongside the reveal of High Noon, 343 Industries also unveiled details about Kinect functionality in “Halo: Anniversary,” including voice commands and a new feature that lets players gather canonical information about its universe as they explore “Halo” and relive the iconic adventure:

Analyze Mode – Analyze Mode is a Kinect-exclusive feature that allows players to “scan” items of interest within the “Halo: Anniversary” campaign to populate the Library, an interactive encyclopedia of “Halo” lore. Once in Analyze mode, new articles of interest can be added to the Library by focusing the reticule on them and saying “Scan.”

The Library – The Library is an expansive index that provides detailed information on items of interest players have scanned through “Analyze Mode,” such as vehicles, characters, enemies and weapons. Through the use of gesture controls, players can explore the entire Library at any time and then return to the campaign to continue unlocking more secrets within the “Halo” universe.

Voice Commands – Harness the technology of Kinect for Xbox 360 to reload your weapon, throw grenades, switch seamlessly between Classic and Remastered graphics and more, using only your voice.

ATLAS Companion Experience and Custom Challenges Usher in the Next Evolution of Halo Waypoint

Halo Waypoint has been the ultimate destination for “Halo” fans on Xbox LIVE since 2009, and this weekend, 343 Industries offered a sneak peak at what’s in store for the groundbreaking online service this holiday:

New Halo Waypoint Interface – A revamped design and user interface lets players navigate Halo Waypoint and access the content they want more easily than ever before, whether they’re online, on their Xbox 360 or on their Windows Phone.

Halo Waypoint ATLAS – Available on Windows Phones this holiday, Halo Waypoint ATLAS (Advanced TacticaL Assault System) is a new mobile experience that offers players a detailed, top-down view of any “Halo: Anniversary” or “Halo: Reach” map in real-time, letting them monitor teammates’ movements and positions as they play. This innovative app encourages strategic gameplay and offers a fun companion experience to any multiplayer match.

Custom Challenges – Building upon the “Halo” series’ genre-defining user-creation toolset, 343 Industries is empowering the community even further by introducing Custom Challenges in “Halo: Anniversary” and “Halo: Reach.” For the first time, players will be able to issue custom Challenges and create friendly competitions with Xbox friends, unlocking infinite creative possibilities to invent and test their “Halo” skills against one another.

For example, players can create a Challenge to get a specific number of headshots (say 50) in Multiplayer, within 24 hours. They can then try the challenge themselves, or invite their friends to give it a shot to see who can get the most headshots. Challenges can be created for Campaign, Matchmaking Firefight, Multiplayer and even Custom modes.

Players will also be able to earn “Halo: Reach” Credits by completing Custom Challenges, infusing new creative potential into the game’s deep player progression system, and leveraging all the great new multiplayer maps from “Halo: Anniversary”!

For a sneak peek at Halo Waypoint ATLAS and Kinect functionality in “Halo: Anniversary,” new footage of the iconic level, “The Pillar of Autumn,” and screenshots of High Noon, be sure to check out the new behind-the-scenes videos and screenshot galleries from 343 Industries available today on Halo Waypoint and HaloWaypoint.com.

So Sega hired Mega64 to make an awesome Rise of Nightmares video. Enjoy and watch for the twist ending.

New Rise of Nightmares ‘controls’ trailer.

Sega’s Rise of Nightmares has some hilarious advertising and tons of zombie and monster killing going for it. I’ll say it again, it’s awesome to see a developer embracing Kinect and actually doing something fun that doesn’t have to do with dancing around your living room. Rise of Nightmares releases next month on Xbox 360.
