Microsoft has been quiet. I’d say too quiet, about what’s coming to their platform in 2012. Granted there’s always surprises come E3 time, as Microsoft loves to announce tons of new stuff at the expo. But what’s coming this Summer? Ah, well that’s what the Xbox 360 Spring Showcase is for.
New Hybrid (5th Cell) trailer and details
- Game underwent graphical overhaul, running locked at 60 FPS
- Movement (which is done with the face buttons of the controller) now involves flight
- We already knew this, but the game will feature an on-going online “world war” in which players fight for control of bases for their faction
- Customization of weapons and abilities
- Releasing this Summer
Prepare to have your face melted with a rumor that just may be one of Microsoft’s megatons this E3.
5th Cell’s XBLA exclusive is as ambitious as their previous efforts, as Hybrid promises to bring persistent online war to XBLA.
The game follows a global conflict between a race called the Variant that have been “genetically altered” following an asteroid strike, and the planet’s immune populace, known as the Paladin.
You’ll have to choose a hero from one of the two factions and then go at it online, helping your faction capture territories and strive for total global domination.
5th Cell is promising a single unified world server to help achieve its vision.
