No Guild Wars 2 Beta this weekend
There will be no Guild Wars 2 Beta Weekend this week ArenaNet has confirmed on Facebook. Following some issues during the first Beta Weekend and stress test event, ArenaNet has made a few changes and is putting new hardware in place to alleviate some of the problems experienced during the event. No date has been set for the second beta event as of yet, but ArenaNet plans to reveal the date once the new hardware is in place.
Rumor: Guild Wars 2 coming June 28th
ArenaNet is currently Beta testing the hell out of Guild Wars 2 and readying for launch. Rumor is that launch may be sooner than some had expect; say late next month. Kotaku is reporting that a Fry’s in Texas is pimping a release date of June 28th for the MMO. If things go swimmingly for the painterly MMO, we may be questing and defeating dragons next month.
[UPDATE] ArenaNet has denied that this is the release date. As the release date will be determined after some more Beta testing, which makes sense. Still, one could indeed hope for a June or July release.

Guild Wars 2 available for pre-order from April 10th, with beta event entry and a three-day head start
NCsoft has today announced that starting April 10th, gamer who pre-purchase the Guild Wars 2 Collector’s, Digital Deluxe or Standard Editions will receive guaranteed entry into all beta weekend events and a three-day head start prior to launch, giving them the opportunity to be among the first to secure their character and guild names.

Want in the Guild Wars 2 Beta? Then get on over to the official site. You’ll need to download a small app which lets Arenanet get a look at what you’re working with (specs wise) and then fill out a small form. Here’s hoping they let us all in! Warning: Beta signup will only be up for 48hours.

It’s a question that seems almost obvious but you rarely see journalists actually ask game creators why they love their game. Arenanet has tons of great answers and in the process makes Guild Wars 2 sound like the MMO I’m going to sink hours upon hours into.
Public Guild Wars 2 beta starting in March and April
ArenaNet has updated their blog with a nice new update with fantastic news for any Guild Wars fan. Expect a huge media update next month with new details on the MMO and finally a public beta ramp up in March and April. My PC is ready!
