I arrived at the Capital city’s Pawn Guild and was introduced to Barnaby, leader of the legendary Pawns Guild. More than just a souless companion like most of my pawns, Barnaby actually had a personality and didn’t seem to need to be trained like most of the pawns inhabiting the world of Dragon’s Dogma.

It begins in blood and ominous foreshadowing and ends in cow riding. That’s been my time with Capcom’s watercooler moment filled action RPG Dragon’s Dogma so far. Which is to say, its been a hoot!

Upcoming Gameplay Cinema: Dragon’s Dogma
Good Morning ladies and gents and happy Sunday. I hope you’re weekend so far has been full of nothing more than just lounging or doing something fun. Just a quick heads up on some of the things coming to GND this coming week. With the release of Dragon’s Dogma this coming Tuesday you can expect a series of new Gameplay Cinema vids focusing on some of the crazy monsters and random moments that can occur in an open-world fantasy game. I also want to welcome a new blogger to the site a certain Mr.Blaine Atkinson. The guy can write his ascot off and is always one to delight, intrigue and also fling crazy monkey shit at his ramblings about the gaming industry.

Capcom’s Dragon’s Dogma looks incredibly fun. Some of bosses we’ve seen as of late really brings back memories of Dark Souls. Check out this new trailer with the Ur- Dragon. Dragon’s Dogma releases May 22nd on PS3 and Xbox 360.

Legend tells of an immensely powerful creature that appears in the Everfall beneath Gran Soren. The creature is known as the Ur-Dragon, and it bears strength too great for one combatant.
The Ur-Dragon encounter in Dragon’s Dogma will take the form of an asynchronous, ongoing online encounter, where players and their parties from around the world can compete online to take down the Ur-Dragon. The effect and damage done by of each of these parties will be combined until the creature is defeated. This will take multiple encounters, but all players who inflict damage on the Ur-Dragon will receive great spoils. The person who inflicts the final blow will receive the greatest reward of all, and all slayers of the Ur-Dragon will have their names and play times recorded in the hall of fame for bragging rights. Meanwhile, offline players will still be able to take on the Ur-Dragon alone, but will receive different rewards at the end.

Coming in the next few weeks we’ll be serving up new video gameplay or as I call them ’gameplay cinemas’ of the first half hour of Diablo III and Dragon’s Dogma. We actually got our console capture equipment working again, which sure as hell wasn’t an easy task but it should make things look a lot less ghetto.
