“There is still some magic left at Rare,” says ex-MGS head Fries

If you’re of the belief that the old Rare we knew and loved is deader than my career as a world class daredevil; you’d be correct. (I took an arrow in the knee!). Oddly enough, Ex-MGS head Ed Fries begs to differ though.

“My seven-year-old son woke me up a couple mornings ago because he couldn’t find Banjo Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts,” said Fries, speaking to Eurogamer.

“As you might imagine, he has lots of games to choose from in our house. But that’s the one he wanted to play. That game, of all the games. It says to me that there is still some magic left at Rare.”

It’s wonderful that Ed’s kid is enjoying Banjo Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts, it was a great game but sadly the last whimpering death kneel of a studio that it’s now doomed to make Kinect games for all time. I’d love to be proven wrong, heaven knows I would,  but until we see a new PERFECT DARK or anything that doesn’t involve me flailing around like a madman in front of my telly, I’d have to disagree with Ed. Prove me wrong Microsoft, prove me wrong!
